In order to provide passengers with a quiet & comfortable rest environment and convenient & considerate travel experience, Shenzhen Airlines has developed a passenger location system consisting of four modules: turnstiles, location base station, location card and software. The turnstile was designed by CMOLO.
What role does the turnstile play in the passenger location system of Shenzhen Airlines?
Turnstile adopts the dual identification methods of card-swiping and code-scanning. Passengers use their air tickets to verify his/her identity at the reception desk of King lounge, the receptionist will issue a location card associating with passengers’ identity, and then passengers can swipe the location card or scan the ticket’s QR code to enter the lounge.
The passenger location system prompts passengers to board the plane through the vibration and light of the location card. If passengers do not find vibration and light in time, the airport staff can judge the flight status and location of the passengers by the location point on the system, and take the initiative to remind the passengers to board the plane ASAP. This method replaces the announcement of the broadcast, avoiding disturbing the rest of the passengers because of the broadcast, and creating a quiet and comfortable rest environment for passengers.
Turnstile is an access barrier that allows authorized passengers to enter and prevents unauthorized personnel to enter, ensuring a good and safe rest environment for King lounge. The turnstile can also collect the information of passengers’ entry and exit to form the efficient management of data and make decision analysis for passenger management of Shenzhen Airlines. The turnstile management is a scientific and technological management method, which not only improves the passenger experience, but also improves the service image and management level of Shenzhen Airlines.

At present, the turnstile designed by CMOLO for Shenzhen Airlines has been successfully applied to the King lounges at Shenzhen airport, Nanchang airport, Quanzhou airport and so on.

In 2013, CMOLO got the turnstile project of Shenzhen Airlines’ King lounge. According to the project requirements, the turnstile needs to be integrated with the ticket checking & ID card scanning and GPS location card collecting system, which not only meets the diversified functional requirements and aesthetics, but also integrates with the environment of the entrance area. The customization of the project was difficult, but we did it well. During the project, we repeatedly confirmed the details of appearance, material and function etc. with Shenzhen Airlines. After three months of discussion and optimization, the turnstile was finally born. In November 2013, Shenzhen airport T3 terminal was opened, and the entrance turnstile for Shenzhen Airlines’ King lounge was officially put into use.

Quanzhou airport - King lounge of Shenzhen Airlines
The entrance turnstile for Shenzhen Airlines’ King lounge in Quanzhou airport was put into use in October 2018. The turnstile was integrated with card swiping and code scanning system. Passengers can enter the lounge by swiping their location card or scanning ticket’s QR code.

Nanchang airport - King lounge of Shenzhen Airlines
