How to quickly replace the accessories of the rotary gate?

Jan 04, 2026

一, Before you start, make sure you have both safety and efficiency.
1. List of tools and other items
Some basic tools are an Allen wrench (2.5mm–6mm), a Phillips screwdriver, a socket wrench (10mm–13mm), a torque wrench, insulated gloves, and goggles.

Tools that are needed: Lamar (for taking apart bearings), Spring Clamp (for manipulating spring buckles), and Multimeter (for finding circuits).
List of accessories: Find out which parts need to be changed depending on the symptoms of the problem, like motors, encoders, limit switches, gate parts, transmission shafts, and so on. Also, check the model and batch numbers to make sure they will work together.
2. Rules for safety
How to turn off the power: Shut off the electricity to the gate, post a sign that says "Do Not Close," and let the hydraulic or pneumatic system release any extra pressure.
Wear insulated gloves and goggles to avoid getting shocked or splashed, and clean the area where you will be working to make sure there is no debris in the way.
Backing up data: For gates with control boards, you need to store up the parameter settings (like how fast the door opens and how long it stays open) so you don't have to debug them again after replacing them.
二, How to replace a core component: For example, the motor and brake lever
Case 1: Replacing the motor (using the DS-TMG42X series barrier gate as an example)
Taking apart the old motor:
Take off the brake lever, disconnect the power supply, use an L-shaped key to unlock the front door, and take off the four nuts on the clamp.
Take off the old motor and the six screws that hold it in place. Be careful to indicate the order of the motor wires (for example, red and black wires for power lines and yellow and green wires for signal lines).
Put in a new motor:
Put the new motor in place and line up the holes for the screws. Then, use six screws to hold it in place. The torque value needs to be within the range given in the manual (for example, 30–40N·m).
Reconnect the motor wires so that the common wire (black) stays still. To change the direction of rotation, switch the motor wires on both sides (for example, connect A to B and B to A).
Debugging and testing:
After turning on the power, drop the brake lever to 20° by hand and let it go. The rebound angle should be between 60° and 70°. Adjust the spring tension nut if there is a difference.
Use the control board to set the motor parameters, including how long it takes to speed up and slow down. Then perform the test to verify if the brake lever moves up and down smoothly.
Case 2: Changing the parts of the sluice rod (using the full height rotary sluice as an example)
Taking apart the old brake lever:
Take off the broken brake lever by loosening the bolts that hold it to the transmission shaft and brake lever (like M8 × 20mm).
If the gate rod and sleeve are hexagonal or octagonal, you should use a special instrument, such a puller, to help you take them apart so you don't damage the shaft hole.
Put in a new gate rod:
Clean the inside of the sleeve and put a little bit of grease on it (like lithium grease). Then, put the new brake rod into the sleeve and line up the slide with the end of the transmission shaft.
Tighten the bolts that hold it together, use hard rubber gaskets to help keep it from coming loose, and keep the torque value between 15 and 20 N·m. For direction calibration, use the "zero position correction" function on the control board to set the brake lever level (error ≤ 1 °) and reset the opening and closing position.
Check to see if the brake lever stops exactly at 90° and 180°. If there is a difference, move the limit switch a little bit.
三, Important safety tips: Don't let secondary failures happen
1. Accessories that work together
Matching models: The motor power, encoder resolution, and gate rod length must all match the original equipment. For instance, the Hikvision DS-TMG42X series barrier gate needs its own motor, the DS-TMG42X-M1.
Consistency in batches: The same batch of accessories works better together because of their materials and tolerances, which prevents noise or jamming from variances in components.
2. Putting things together
Cleanliness: After taking it apart, use compressed air to clean the shaft holes and threads, get rid of oil stains and iron filings, and stop additional wear and tear.
Tightening order: Use the "middle first, then ends" rule to tighten the bolts evenly in three steps, with the torque going up by 30% each time.
Managing lubrication: Use special lubricating grease on transmission parts such bearings and gears to prevent using regular engine oil, which might make the viscosity too low.
3. Important points for debugging
Adjustment limit: You can fine-tune the stop position of the brake rod using the "open limit" and "close limit" settings on the control board. The error will be kept to within ± 2mm.
Magnet calibration: If you need to replace the Hall sensor or magnet, you need to verify the motherboard's antenna induction with a magnet to make sure the indication light is in the right place.
Load testing: To check the strength of the gate and the motor's overload protection feature, simulate real-life traffic situations like a pedestrian pushing against it or a car hitting it.
